As your senator I will always fight to protect access to reproductive healthcare – When the Supreme Court dismantled constitutional protections for reproductive rights (through its decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Whole Women’s Health), I led the fight to protect the right to choose here in Maryland, ensuring our state remains a haven for access to reproductive health care. I did this through legislation that protects patients and providers alike from the criminal, civil, or administrative consequences states like Texas seek to impose upon those who seek or perform abortions in choice-friendly states like Maryland.
I have also worked on efforts to ensure that all four-year public schools of higher education provide 24/7 access to reproductive services and that the right to choose was enshrined in our state constitution.
