COVID-19: Food Assistance Options

Meals on Wheels:

Low Cost meals are delivered to those who struggle with mobility or otherwise have difficulty going to the grocery store.

Manna Food Center:

Manna Food Center is an outstanding organization that endeavors to end food insecurity in Montgomery County. During the current crisis, Manna is waiving income requirements and will provide food to any Montgomery County Resident.

You must sign up in order to arrange food pick-up at a specific time and location. Please DO NOT show up at a food collection site without having scheduled a pick-up with Manna.

Shepherd’s Table:

Shepherd’s Table, which hasn’t missed a meal in 35 years, is still serving free meals every day from their headquarters at 8106 Georgia Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20910. They are currently distributing boxed meals as opposed to service in the dining hall.

Currently, Shepard’s Table is providing two meals per day. For more information, click here.

Brunch from 10:30 to 11:30 AM and Dinner from 6:00 to 7:30 PM

For further options, the Montgomery County Food Council maintains a COVID-19: Local Food System Resources with a list of all organizations and standing food assistance organizations whose capacity and hours may be impacted by the current crisis. Please reach out to the organizations directly to see what services they provide and to whom during the COVID shutdown.
